IPL Auction 2.0

Welcome to the thrill of a live auction! Put yourself in the shoes of a bidder to build the dream team that you always wanted in these racy hours of nerves, strategy, game theory and gut. If you love cricket, if you have followed IPL and if you can mix common sense with passion into your bidding strategy, this event is for you. We will be having a preliminary qualifying round i.e. a Cricket Quiz for the Auction. After qualifying the Cricket quiz, then participants will get a chance to choose any Franchise (Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata knight Riders, Mumbai Indians etc.) to begin building their dream team.


The quiz will contain 20 questions in total.

There will be 5 “star” marked questions from the 20.

A star marked questions behaves as a bonus question.

If there is a tie between two or more teams, the team which answers maximum number of star marked questions will be given more priority.

There will be a time interval of exactly 1 MINUTE for every question.

Each question carries one mark each.

A question carrying two parts will be marked half for one part and half for the other.

No cell phones, or any kind of electronic gadgets are allowed during the quiz, any team failing to follow the same will be disqualified straight away.


150 players will be available in the IPL Auction 2.0.

Database of players up for grabs is made on the basis of their performance in IPL.

Each team can spend up to 80 crores during auction. Failing to spend within the limit will lead to disqualification.

Each players available for auction have some attributes (credit rating points) from 0-100 (0 is worst and 100 is best) on the basis of their stats in IPL. The detail performance of each player will be shown to you on the projector.

Each team should manage to have 11 players (with 5 batsmen, 3 bowlers, 2 All-Rounders and 1 wicketkeeper) +1 Coach in their squad ,failing which they will be automatically disqualified. (Total 11+1=12)

The value (credit rating points) of each player and coach purchased by the team will be then added and the team with highest value will be declared as winner.

There are pre-defined rules to solve any dispute that may arise in a very rare situation. The decision of the organizers would be final and binding on all.

Team Specification:

One team can have only 3 members.

More than one team from the same college will be entertained.

Teams from the same college need to sit apart.
