Rules

1. This is a Duet Dance Competition.
2. Participants can perform on Hollywood/ Bollywood songs (it's your choice and you can perform classical/semi classical).
3. Time limit 4- 6 minutes.
4. Props are allowed (Participants should bring their own props). Props which might cause inconvenience to the other teams or cause damage to the stage or the surroundings, will not be entertained under any circumstance (this applies to any fluid, flame, powders, colours, glass etc.).
5. Participants should perform a part of their dance for 2(+1) minutes in the prelims round with/without costumes and props.
(Prelim round will be held only if no. of participants are more than 6).

Note

Tracks should be named as: LT-name_of_both_participants e.g., LT-atul_&_dheeraj.

Mudra

Description

Dancing is an art; the floor is your canvas; and you, the brush. Let your feet speak the hidden language of your soul; Let the rhythm carry you away...where the hand goes, follows the eye, where the eyes go, follows the heart...so here's your chance to mesmerize the audience with your grace. Get ready to enchant the audience with a stupendously magnificent performance of yours.

Rules


❖ You can steal the show alone.
❖ This is Solo Classical Competition.
❖ Time limit: Max 6 min. Min: 3 min (including the setup time)
❖ Only classical and semi-classical forms of dance are allowed.
❖ Time limit should not be exceeded.
❖ Costume and accessories are to be arranged by participant at their cost.

Note

❖ Judges may ask question regarding the performance, genre specifications and about element/theme you are depicting.
❖ Tracks should be named as: MUD-your_name e.g., MUD-vartika_singh.

Pump It Up

Description

The world is at your feet with all the eyes set on you; but here you face it alone, for everybody may not be able to get to this height. Forget about simultaneity and formation. Keeping the spirits high, cool your heels, it's time to step up a notch at VIVACITY-2020's solo dance competition. Spin and sway, prance and engross all in the rhythm of cosmic tune and divine music. The heart beats have gone up and everyone is eager to sink in the captivating poetry of footsteps.

1st Round

❖ This is a Solo Western Competition.
❖ Time limit: Max: 2 min, Min: 1 min. 30 sec. Candidates are required to strictly adhere to the time limits.
❖ All forms of western dance are allowed (Classical dance form is not allowed).
❖ Get two copies of your song- one on a CD and one in pen drive.
❖ Song should be submitted one hour prior to the prelims.

2nd Round (Prop round)

❖ The shortlisted participants from the 1st Round will be given some props by us and will perform on the song of their choice (the song should be available).
❖ Time limit: Max: 2 min, Min: 1 min 30 sec. Time limit should not be exceeded.
❖ Candidates must bring two copies of their songs as stated earlier, i.e., on a CD and in a pen drive

❖ Songs should be in .mp3 format. No audio cassettes will be allowed.
❖ Tracks should be named as: PIU-your_name-round_name-(PRELIMS/FINALS).

Razzmatazz

Description

Dance till you drop! Rock the floor with your ecstatic dance mix of intensity, energy and enthusiasm. Show all the people out there what you have got! Feel the music in your heart & resonate to the beats, splash the jar of dance on the stage and ignite the fire in the hearts. Razzmatazz is back to rock the floor with most talented dance groups across the country. Dance your heart out, come and show us your grotesque madness. It's time to step up a notch at VIVACITY-2020's RAZZMATAZZ. Bring out the best in you and show it through your dance. Conquer the dance floor and mesmerize the audience with sizzling moves this year at Vivacity 2020.

Rules

❖This is a Duet Dance Competition.
❖ Team Size - Minimum of 8 and maximum of 30 members are allowed in a team with atleast 6 and atmost 20 members from team present on the stage during the performance. Not following this can reduce your marks.
❖Time Limit-
PRELIMS: (3-6 minutes including stage setup and clearance).
FINALS: (7-10 minutes performance + max 2 minutes of stage setup and clearance). Exceeding this will lead to deduction in marks.
❖All dance forms are allowed.
Semi-Folk/Semi Classical is allowed but purely folk dance is NOT
❖The songs performed in prelims must be part of the routine to be presented in the final round.
❖The obscenity of any kind will lead to immediate disqualification.
❖ Participants can use props suited to their performance. Props which might cause inconvenience to the other teams or cause damage to the stage the surroundings, will not be entertained under any circumstance (this applies to any fluid, flame, powders, colours, glass etc.).
❖Teams should bring their tracks in CD or pendrive and should submitted 5 hours before the event. They should be named as:
RAZZ- Team_Name/Clg_Name-Round(PRELIMS/FINALS)
e.g., RAZZ-IIT_Jodhpur-PRELIMS and RAZZ-IIT_Jodhpur-FINALS.

Note

❖Tracks of length greater than 10 minutes in finals won't be accepted at all during track submission.
❖Participants must have a valid college I-card to participate. In case of any discrepancy, the team shall be disqualified.

The Outlaw

Description

The dance that unfolds in the most disorderly fashion and has literally no rules of play, the one that calls for those outlaws who are untamed by ant type. Come and establish your rule among the various gangs of the street, face them one to one and knock them off the scene!

Note

Round 1 will be there only when the no. of participating teams is greater than 4.

Round 1 (Showcase Round)
❖Team should showcase their prepared performance with time limit 4-6 minutes.
❖Team Size - Min 5 & max 15 members are allowed.
❖ Allowed dance styles - hip-hop, freestyle, break-dance, popping, locking, B- boying, tutting, waving, threading and other funky dance styles.
❖Teams should bring their soundtrack either in a CD or a pen drive. The soundtrack should be in .mp3 format only.

Round 2 (Battle Round):
❖It will be a dance face-off between 2 teams at a time.
❖ The timer for a team starts as soon as the dancers (solo, duo or group) step into the performance area and will be switched after 45 seconds.
❖The music for the performance will be provided on the spot.
❖ This round will run for max 9 minutes.
❖ Participants must not physically interfere with their opponents' performance in the battle. Doing so will result in negative points or straight away disqualification.
❖One team will be selected after each battle. So, the team which will perform better in the last battle will be the winner.
❖The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

Vogue

Rules


❖Prior online registration is required.
❖ It is a team event. Team size may vary from 10 to 20 members, including models, designers, choreographers, make-up artists, etc.
❖ Each member of the team is required to carry their ID cards.
❖ Theme selection is open. All the teams can have a theme of their own choice.
❖ Props should be arranged by the teams on their own. Use of fire, water, animals or any hazardous material is prohibited.
❖ Vulgarity of any kind would lead to disqualification of team from the event. Hence if the team feels that any stunt of costume design can be deemed as vulgar, it is strongly advised to consult the organizers than performing it directly on stage.

Judging Criteria:

❖ Theme: Originality, Depiction of Theme, Designing, Use of Props.
❖ Constraint: Uniqueness, Innovation and Improvisation in terms of executing the transformation.
❖ Models: Ramp walk, Stage Presence, Poise, Overall Appearance
❖ Team: Choreography, Music and Narration, Co-ordination, Relevance to the theme and Overall Performance

Contrasto

Rules

❖ Registration is required.
❖ It is a team event OR individual participation. Team size limit to 2-3 members. ❖ Theme will be provided to the teams at the beginning of the event.
❖ Each participant will be provided with a drawing sheet-half of it being black and other half being white, along with other inventories.
❖ He/She will have to draw a something related to a certain theme using black and white charcoal/chalk provided to him/her.
❖ The participant will also have to give a written explanation about the art work in around 50 words.
❖ The judging will be based on beauty, skill, clarity of explanation and relevance to the Theme.
❖ The decision of the judges and the organizing committee will be final.

Splash

Rules


❖ Registration is required.
❖ It is a team event. Team size is limited to 2-3 members.
❖ Theme will be provided to the teams in the beginning of the event.
❖ This is sa face/hand painting event.
❖ One member of the team has to volunteer to get his/her face and hands painted by the rest of the team.
❖ Teams will have to draw something related to the theme given.
❖ The participants will also have to give a written explanation about the art work in around 50 words.
❖ The judging will be based on beauty, skill, clarity of explanation and relevance to the theme.
❖ The decision of the judges and the organising committee will be final.
❖ All inventories will be provided.

Ink The Tee

Rules


❖ Registration is required.
❖ It is a team event OR individual participation. Team size limit to 2-3 members.
❖ Theme will be provided to the participants in the beginning of the event.
❖ Each participant will be provided with a drawing sheet along with other inventories
❖ Participants will have to draw something related to theme on the drawing sheet first. The participants will also have to give a written explanation about the art work in around 50 words.
❖ The drawing sheets will be evaluated and participants will be selected.
❖ Top 20 participants will be given a t-shirt to draw their work upon.
❖ The judging will be based on beauty, skill, clarity of explanation and relevance to the theme.
❖ The decision of the judges and the organizing committee will be final.

Colorama

Rules


❖ Registration is required.
❖ It is a team event OR individual participation. Team size limit to 2-3 members,
❖ Theme will be provided to the teams in the beginning of the event.
❖ Each participant will be provided with a drawing sheet along with other inventories
❖ Participants will have to draw something related to theme.
❖ The participant will also have to give a written explanation about the art work in around 50 words
❖ The time limit for the event is 2 hrs. Exceeding the time limit will result in deduction of marks
❖ The judging will be based on beauty, skill, clarity of explanation and relevance to the theme.
❖ The decision of the judges and the organizing committee will be final.

Tattoo tales

Rules


❖ Registration is required.
❖ It is a team event. Team size limit to 2-3 members.
❖ Theme selection is open. All the teams can have a theme of their own choice. Participants can make any tattoo they like.
❖ One member of the team has to volunteer to get the tattoo painted on his/her body.
❖ An inventories will be provided.
❖ The participant will also have to give a written explanation about the art work in around 50 words.
❖ The time limit for the event is 2 hrs. Exceeding the time limit will result in deduction of marks.
❖ The judging will be based on beauty, skill, clarity of explanation and relevance to the theme.
❖ The decision of the judges and the organizing committee will be final.

Antakshri

Description

❖ The registration for the contest shall take place on the spot at the venue.
❖ There shall be multiple rounds. The nature such rounds shall be decided by the organizers.
❖ Each team shall comprise of 3 to 6 members.
❖ The scoring system of each round shall be intimated to the participants during the contest.
❖ The winners shall be decided on the basis of the points earned through the rounds.
❖ The decision of judges and coordinators are final and biding in all cases

Duetto

Description :   ( HINDI DUET )

The contest shall comprise of two rounds:

For the preliminary round

❖ The partners in the duet should belong to the same college.
❖ The participants may perform a song of their choice.
❖ The time allotted to each duet is 2-3 minutes.
❖ Accompaniments or backing tracks are not allowed for this round.
❖ Each participant can exclusively participate in ONE duet.
❖ The number of duets qualifying for the final round shall be decided by the organizers on the basis of participation.

For the final round:

❖ The participants can perform any song of their choice.
❖ The time allotted is 5-6 minutes. Failing to keep within the time limit shall result in deduction of points.
❖ The participants are allowed a maximum of 2 accompaniments.
Backing tracks/karaoke are permitted.
❖ The judges shall have the unanimous and unquestionable say and their decision shall be final. The judges shall base their decision on the following criterions: quality of voice, sense of scale and beat and the quality of rendition.

Mescolanza

Description   ( GROUP )

For the preliminary round

❖ The number of vocalists in a group can range from 4 to 10 members and maximum of 4 accompanists are allowed.
❖ The time limit allotted to each group is 7-10 minutes.
Participants are requested to bring their own instruments for the performance.
❖ A group may sing multiple songs. However, they are to keep within the time limit.
❖ The songs performed can be in English or any other Indian language.
❖ The judges shall have the unanimous and unquestionable say and their decision shall be final.
❖ The judges shall base their decision on the following criterions: quality of voice, sense of scale and beat and the quality of rendition.

Rap Battle

Description

❖ Each contestant shall be allotted 2 to 3 minutes for their performance.
❖ Failing to keep within this limit shall result in deduction of points.
❖ Performance can be in a language of choice of the participant.
❖ The organizers hold the authority to disqualify competitors who are rude, abusive or deemed otherwise unsuitable. The organizers shall not be answerable for such action.
❖ The judges shall have the unanimous and unquestionable say and their decision shall be final.
❖ Judgement shall be based on the lyrics, presence of the performer, delivery and audience appeal.
This event is a subject to number of participations. If ample numbers of participation is not there, it may be cancelled by the coordinators.

Solendious

Description   ( WESTERN SOLO )

❖ The contest shall comprise of two rounds:

For the preliminary round

❖ The participants can perform any song of the genre of their choice.
❖ The time allotted shall be 120 seconds. Failing to keep up with the time limit shall result in deduction of points.
❖ One accompaniment shall be permitted (Participants are requested to bring their own instruments for the performence).
❖ The number of participants qualifying for the final round shall be decided by the organizers on the basis of participation.

There shall be only one round

❖ The time allotted to each participant is 4-5 minutes.
❖ Each participant is permitted a maximum of 2 accompaniments.
❖ The judges shall have the unanimous and unquestionable say and their decision shall be final. The judges shall base their decision on the following criterions: quality of voice, sense of scale and beat and the quality of rendition.

Swaranjali

Description   ( HINDI SOLO )

❖ The contest shall comprise of two rounds:

For the preliminary round

❖ Contestants shall be provided with a time limit of 120 seconds to sing a song of their choice.
❖ Failing to keep within the time limit will result in the contestant being asked to stop.
❖ One accompaniment shall be permitted (Participants are requested to bring their own instruments for the performence).

For the final round

❖ The participants can perform any song of their choice.
❖ The time allotted to each contestant is 4 to 5 minutes.
❖ A contestant is allowed up to 2 accompaniments or a karaoke/backing track.
❖ The participants may perform a medley by the artist allotted to them, provided they keep within the stipulated time of 4 to 5 minutes.
❖ The judges shall have the unanimous and unquestionable say and their decision shall be final. The judges shall base their decision on the following criterions: quality of voice, sense of scale and beat and the quality of rendition.

Verismo

Description   ( INSTRUMENTALS )

❖ Number of rounds: 1
Vocals are not allowed.
Only one participant is allowed.
You will come with one of your prepared song or something to play and present it in front of the judges.
❖ Participant has to bring in his/her own instrument.
❖ You may use any musical instrument.
❖ Time limit: 5 minutes.
❖ Judgement Criteria: The participants will be on different instruments,quality of piece chosen to play.
The decision of the Judges and the coordinators shall be final and binding in all cases.

Bamboozled

Description

Bamboozled' will be held in two rounds:
both of these rounds will take place back to back at the venue, duringVivacity.
The initial round(Prelims) will be a written elimination round.. The final round(Main) will be between the top twelve teams from the Prelims.

Rules

❖ This event is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students.
❖ The team should comprise of exactly 2/3 members.
❖ An individual can be a part of only one registeredteam.
❖ There is no cap on the number of teams registered per institute.
❖ The decisions of the organizers of the contest will be final and unanimously bindingonall the participants.

Rostrum

Judging Criteria

❖ The oratory fluency of the contestants.
❖ The accuracy and relevance of the content.
❖ The relevance of the questions and answers asked in the Q&A round.
❖ The rebuttal given to the question posed by the other team.
❖ The conviction and confidence shown by the participants.

Rules

❖ The teams would consist of two participants.
❖ The debate will be conducted in the form of knockout rounds:
Each team will be given a serial number and can challenge any one of the remaining teams. The challengee has to pick out a chit which would consist of three motions and choose one of them for the debate. The debate master decides which team stands in favour of the motion and which team opposes it.
❖ A document will be provided to the teams containing the 10 topics.
❖ Opening statement:
In the first stage, a team member from the teams paired against each other will present their opening statement. (Max. Duration – 3 min).
❖ The second speaker of each team builds on the stance of their team while countering the opening statement of the opponent. (Max Duration – 2 min).
❖ Question and Answer: Next stage will be a Question & Answer round where the teams will pose a question to the opponent. In this round, the one who presented the rebuttal will be answering the question posed by their opponent. No cross questioning will be allowed in this round. (Max. Duration – 1 min)

Closing Statement

Finally, the teams summarize their arguments and finish with a concluding statement. (Max. Duration – 1 min)
❖ In the last two rounds where only the final four teams are left, the Debate Master shall provide both the teams with the agenda and their stance.

Spotlight

GENERAL

❖ The participants can only use English as well as Hindi in their content. No other language is allowed.
❖ If the time limit is exceeded, only the part of the content that was served within the time allotted shall be considered.
❖ The decision of the judges shall be final and binding. No further requests shall be entertained.
❖ Only solo and duet performances are allowed.
❖ Use of obscenity/profanity (at the discretion of the judges) of any kind is not allowed.
❖ The performer shall be held responsible for any kind of misconduct at the location of the event.
❖ Judging Criteria: Content, Delivery, Gestures, Stage Presence, Audience Engagement and Overall Impact.
❖ Use of props is allowed, brought in by the participants themselves. The organisers hold the discretion of allowing it on stage.
❖ Genre: Poetry, Slam, Storytelling, Stand-Up, Music (Vocal and Instrumental), Ghazhals and Shayaris.

FIRST ROUND

COLLEGE PRELIMS ❖ The participants have to register themselves with the Campus In-charge for the event.
❖ The participants have to perform on the date and venue provided by their campus in-charge.
❖ The performance will be video recorded, please make sure the sound is clear.
❖ Use of any kind of special effects is STRICTLY prohibited and will lead to direct disqualification.
❖ Time Limit: 2-2.5 minute.

ONLINE ROUND ❖ You have to submit a video/audio of you performing one of your pieces, the video/audio maybe even recorded with mobile. Please make sure that the sound is clear.
❖ Use of any kind of special effects is STRICTLY prohibited and will lead to direct disqualification.
❖ Time Limit: 2-2.5 minutes.
❖ The selected performers shall be informed the same via email.

SECOND ROUND

❖ If you are selected for this round, you have to make a fee payment of ₹450 and get yourself registered, failing which, will lead to the cancellation of your registration.
❖ The registration amount includes the participation fee for SPOTLIGHT 2020 and also provides the participant free entry for the 3 days of Vivacity 2020 to make indelible memories with pro nights, concerts, Vogue’s fashion walks and a lot more.
❖ The selected performers will be called to Jaipur for the second elimination round out of which 10 performers will be selected.
❖ Participants are to recite their piece in front of a live audience, either from memory or reading from a paper.
❖ Since the participants are called upon in a random order, everyone is required to be present at least 10 minutes prior to the start.
❖ Organizers will not be responsible if the participant is unable to reach the pre-informed venue on time and misses their slot.
❖ Time Limit: 3-4 Minutes.

FINAL ROUND

❖ The 10 shortlisted performers will get a chance to perform at Vivacity 2020, one of the biggest cultural fiestas of North India.
❖ Participants should be present at the venue an hour prior to the final event.
❖ The participants shall carry all the required props with themselves.
❖ Time Limit: 5 Minutes

HONOURS & AWARDS

With hard work comes always some fruitful results. Every person participating in this event is working hard as Rocky Balboa. As we know what it takes to speak in front of a crowd, that’s why we have decided to keep the prizes worth ₹35,000.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

❖ The content should be original. If any mischief/plagiarism is found, we reserve the rights to disqualify the participant.
❖ We reserve the right to change, add or subtract anything in the event/form/slot booking without any prior notice.
❖ Videography of the performance by others during the event is strictly prohibited. For this, we will be having our own team.
❖ You retain ownership of your work, but you give our team permission to photograph or record your performance for display on our website or channel with attribution to you.
❖ You also give us the right to remove your video if we find the content ineligible at any point in time for any reason.
❖ Unedited/Raw footage will not be released or given to anyone at any cost.

Knock Out Ads

Description

We bring to you a new arena to exhibit the salesman in you, a showdown where 2 teams or individuals will sell the same item on the same stage with the moto to knock out their opponent.

RULES

❖ It is a team event. Each team should have 1-5 members only.
❖ The topic would be provided on the spot.
❖ You can challenge any participating team and it's up to them whether they accept your challenge or not. In the former, you will be allocated a random opponent.
❖ The order of performing your act will be decided by a toss.
❖ 120 seconds preparation time for the first team and the opponent has to perform as soon as the first team finishes.
❖ The time limit for performing the advertisement is 1-2 minutes.
❖ Participants shall be judged on the basis of spontaneity, content, adherence to the topic, on- stage presentation, coordination and overall appeal of the advertisement.
❖ If the team performing after their opponent copies any of their ideas or a piece of their act, marks shall be deducted.
❖ The caution should be taken to refrain from displaying obscenity, violence, prejudice, defamation, etc. in Advertisement.
❖ The winner of each showdown will move to the next round and fight against a random competitor or can challenge any team eligible in that round.
❖ The number of rounds entirely depends on the number of participants as the winner will be decided among the 2 undefeated champions who will reach the final round of the showdown.
❖ The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

There are prizes worth 9K to be won.

PARTICIPATION FEE
The participation fee varies according to the number of participants.
• For a team of 1 person, the participation fee would be Rs. 150/-
• For a team of two, Rs. 280/-
• For a team of three, it would be Rs. 420/-
• For a team of four, Rs. 550/-
• And for a team of five, Rs. 690/-

Just A Minute

Description

A fun form of verbal battle, wherein you compete as to who can speak the most in a creative way (without getting your mic seized).

FIRST ROUND

❖ The contestants will be divided into several groups.
❖ Each group will be given a random topic by the moderators upon which any person among the team can start with the discussion.
❖ Each group member can speak for a maximum of 1 minute. The moderator shall give a warning after 50 secs, followed by the final warning at the end of 60 secs.
❖ Anyone from the group can interject the speaker on grounds of 3 types of abnormalities, that are- Repetition, Stutter, and Deviation.
❖ The interjector has to carry on the discussion from the point where he/she interjected the speaker and complete their "JAM".
❖ After a speaker rests his/her voice after 60 secs, any group member can start another "JAM" until all of them have spoken.
❖ Marks shall be awarded on the basis of fluency, confidence, type of content, creativity and the impact on the audience.
❖ Additional marks will be given for the amount of time you speak and the number of interjections you make.

SECOND ROUND

❖ This round is a simple one. It will be a rapid-fire round in which the contestants will have to answer the questions asked by the moderator. The one who’ll answer the maximum number of questions in 1 minute will be crowned as Undisputed Champion of JAM - Just A Minute.
❖ But since every movie has a climax in it, there is one in this round too. The questions that will be asked by the moderator, the participants must answer them in an irrelevant way, failing to do so will lead to no further questions.

❖ For Example
Moderator: What is your name?
You: I like Your shoes.

JUDGING CRITERIA

All the participants will be judged on the basis of the following factors: Creativity, Content, Fluency, Confidence, Impact on the audience.
In the first round, Judges will play their role by giving you marks on the following points:
❖ Repetition: if the speaker repeats any of his/her points in the span of 60 minutes.
❖ Stutter: If the speaker stutters or finds it difficult to speak about the topic in the span of 60 secs.
❖ Deviation: If the speaker deviates from the given topic or speaks about something non- relevant.
In Round 2 will be, you’ll be judged on the basis of the following:
❖ The maximum number of questions answered by one team/individual.
❖ How irrelevant and amusing their answer is!

PRIZE

PARTICIPATION FEE

ADDITIONAL BENEFI❖ Free participant in the flagship events of Media Cell, Duologue where strangers start a conversation while being blindfolded.
The one participating in all four events, The Scribbled Stories Workshop, Photography Workshop by Haramkhor, JAM, Duologue, the total registration fees for them will be 400.

The Ultimate XI

Synopsis

Build your dream fantasy team from your favourite players and see how closely do you follow FOOTBALL!
Out here will be the ultimate test of your football knowledge and your business skills.

Description

There will be 2 rounds:
❖ Football quiz: The top 10 teams would be qualified for the final round. The team to qualify as the highest scoring team in quiz would get to choose the team first.
❖ The Auction - The participants have to form a team of 11 players with 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 3 mid-fielders and 3 attackers, along with 1 manager. The team with the highest rating would be declared as the winner.

Rules

❖ For the first round (i.e. Football Quiz) the participants have to form a team of 3 members.
